Patty Deiter joined the Grace Community team as Director of Children’s Ministry in March of 2014. A native of Lancaster County, she comes with many years of experience, both as a public school teacher and in ministry to children through the local church and Rawlinsville Camp Meeting.
Patty is a graduate of Taylor University with a B.S. in Elementary Education (1982) and is in the Masters of Ministry/Leadership Studies program at Lancaster Bible College. She retired in June of 2015 from the Solanco School District where she taught for 33 years. She served in music and children’s ministry roles at Bethesda U.M. church until 1995. For over 20 years, she led the Children’s Ministry of Rawlinsville Camp Meeting. Prior to coming to Grace Community, Grace Church at Willow Valley was Patty’s church home. There she had the privilege of serving in a variety of ministries, including serving on staff as Director of Music and Women’s Ministries (2008-2012).
Patty’s desire is to see children come to a saving knowledge of the Lord, Jesus Christ at a young age. She wants to help them to experience His love and grace, to grow in their knowledge of Him and His Word, and grow up to become fully committed followers of Jesus. As she provides leadership to the team, she sees her role as that of encouraging and equipping current and new team members, refining the vision of the ministry, and developing curriculum to support the vision. She also hopes to more fully develop the connection between our Children’s Ministry and our church families.
Patty is the proud aunt to one niece and three nephews, all of whom are young adults. She is blessed to have her two great sisters and brothers-in-law. After living most of her life in the southern end of the county, she now makes her home in Millersville.
