Multiply

We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9), and God calls us to respond to His grace with obedience and faithfulness. God does His part, and He invites us to do ours. But what is our part? What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus?
As disciples or followers of Jesus, we not only connect to others, grow our faith, and serve the church, but we also respond to God’s invitation to participate in His mission. He invites us to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19-20). Disciples of Jesus MULTIPLY the faith that they have in Jesus to create more disiciples of Jesus.

At GCC, we invite you to consider three ways that you can intentionally help others know and follow Jesus:

Teach

Disciples of Jesus know who He is and what He taught. This is why teaching others about Jesus and about the Bible is so important.

If God has equipped you to teach others, we invite you to contact our Children’s Ministry Director about teaching in GCC Kids, our Junior High Pastor about teaching our GCC Youth Sunday School Class, or our Assistant Director of Discipleship about teaching an Adult Education Class.

Lead

A disciple of Jesus can invest in another person’s relationship with Jesus through various leadership roles at GCC. Leaders within GCC’s Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, and Small Group Ministry have the opportunity to walk alongside other worshippers and shepherd a small part of the congregation. Leaders do not necessarily need to be good teachers. Rather, they must be disciples of Jesus who are committed to helping other people know and follow Jesus.

If you are interested in leading a small group or assuming a leadership role in either our Men’s or Women’s Ministry, please contact our Assistant Director of Discipleship.

Disciple

God providentially places people in our lives for us to connect with, care for, and celebrate. He invites us to invest in someone else for either a brief moment or an extended season. We invite you to consider the following questions:

Who is someone in my life that needs to hear the good news of Jesus?

Who might God be inviting me to disciple?

“Disciple” can sometimes be a scary or intimidating word. Many of us have never been intentionally discipled by another believer. It’s not that we don’t want to disciple someone else; we just don’t know how to do it. If this describes you, we invite you to review our Discipleship Training Guide or consider participating in one of our Discipleship Training Workshops that we offer twice a year.
