CloseMany Christians find themselves confessing the same sins repeatedly without experiencing real change in their lives. In Nehemiah chapter 10, we see God's people move beyond mere confession to making a binding commitment to obedience. After discovering God's Word and confessing their sins, they put their commitment in writing and sealed it with their signatures. True repentance involves turning from sin and turning to God, producing fruit that demonstrates genuine change. Jesus challenges us with the question: Why do you call me Lord and not obey? Moving from confession to commitment requires identifying specific areas of disobedience and making concrete steps toward authentic obedience.
