Does God Tempt Us?
This weekend, we launch a series of 14 sermons that unpack and explain some of the hard sayings of Jesus – the hard-to-understand and hard-to-apply-to-life teachings and stories of Jesus that seem to raise more questions than they answer. We need to understand these truths so we can live full and free lives in Jesus Christ. I believe this will be an exciting journey into God’s Word and I can hardly wait to study with you! To begin, let me ask you, why would Jesus tell us to ask God not to lead us into temptation? Every other request we make in the Lord’s Prayer (Luke 11:1-4) fits the character of God as we know Him. But lead us not into temptation!!? God certainly doesn’t tempt us, but why must we make that request? What does it mean? To learn what it means and to explore what God says about temptation in His Word, join your GCC family for weekend worship. For many of you, it will be the first time in the new sanctuary and we are excited to welcome you to this new space.

Grace Like Jesus - Luke 22:47-53
This weekend and on Good Friday, we wrap up our series “Unfiltered Jesus.” In this series, we unpacked several hard sayings of Jesus. Let’s face it, sometimes, what Jesus said was hard to grasp. However, this weekend, we will look not at what Jesus said but rather at something Jesus did that is simply hard to get our minds around. This sermon is called “Grace Like Jesus.” How gracious was Jesus? Just consider, for a span of three and half years, Jesus showed the unmerited and undeserved favor of God to a very undeserving and unfavorable character – his name was Judas. But Judas was not the only one to receive the grace of Jesus. We all do, every day! Join us as we are introduced to the greed of Judas so that we can better understand and pursue grace like Jesus in our lives.
